The Decision, Risk and Operations Division and the Deming Center for Operational Innovation and Excellence at Columbia Business School invites to the inaugural Workshop on Experimentation for Decision-Making.
This workshop aims to create a high-impact forum for academic–industry collaboration centered on experimentation for decision-making, with a primary focus on the Operations community while remaining open to adjacent fields. The workshop will follow a one-day intimate, interactive format that prioritizes deep engagement and meaningful dialogue. The workshop's core goal is to foster meaningful knowledge exchange between academic researchers and industry practitioners. Academic participants will gain direct exposure to pressing real-world operational challenges faced by firms, public organizations, and NGOs, while industry practitioners will engage with cutting-edge research and explore potential solutions emerging from the academic community. This bidirectional exchange aims to build collaborative relationships that extend well beyond the event itself, bridging the gap between theoretical advances and practical implementation.
Confirmed plenary speakers: Ron Berman (Wharton), Nathan Kallus (Cornell/Netflix), Chetan Sharma (Founder and CEO, Eppo), and Nellwyn Thomas (Shopify).
For those attending, there will be a $150 conference registration fee to help cover costs of the conference. This fee will be waived for all graduate students.
